STICK FIGHTING (PERESEAN), THE SEASONAL EVENT OF CULTURE IN BAYAN

Seasonal tour of culture in Bayan it is watching stick fighting in the afternoon. This seasonal event starts in June to October or December and off when rainy season begins. Peresean is a traditional battle between two men from the Sasak Tribe in Lombok using rattan sticks as swords and shields made of buffalo skin. The fighter is usually allowed to attack the opponent's back and shoulders. But in some rules, the fighters can attack from waist to head.

Watcing peresean is seasonal. It usually begins on June to October or December before rainy season. This tour is included in to a day tour in Bayan area. ONE DAY TOUR: TREKKING TO MOUNT PERGASINGAN

Rice Terrace Seen from Mount Pergasingan

HIGHLIGHT: Mount Pergasingan is another lower mount close to mount Rinjani. It is located in Sembalun village. It takes 2 hours to hike it. This lower mount has beautiful view to see such as rice field terraces, Sembalun village, the summit of mount Rinjani, two Gilis in the east of Lombok, etc.Hiking this mount is a solution when we don't have enough longer time to hike mount Rinjani. It also a choice for beginners. It also spends cheap cost of guiding service and shorter time. 

ITENARARY:

06.00 - 07.30: Our driver pick you up at your hotel lobby and drive to Barung Birak to meet the guide. Then we continue driving to Sembalun area.

08.30 - 10.00: Arrival at sembalun, take a rest and get some short briefing from our trekking guide and prepare all the stuff for soft trekking. Once everything is set, we continue the journey to trekk mount Pergasingan. Trail leading through the hills Pergasingan tended vegetable gardens and rice fields that surround Sembalun Lawang. The first stop is on the ridge of the Pergasingan Hill, a spot distance of approximately 1.5 hours of Sembalun Lawang village. the ridge trail leading through a very extensive grasslands. Enjoy snacks time.

12.00 - 12.30: The trail between the ridge to the summit is not too steep, after 1.5 hours you will reach Pergasingan Hilltop, a place where you can watch the entire village of Sembalun and hills that surround it.

13.00 - 14.30: When you are at the top of Pergasingan Hill, you'll be amazed on how beautiful this world were created and your mind will be pampered by the beauty of the universe in its unique beautiful design. Your lunch will be served here. After lunch you will be invited to surround the hilltop Pergasingan where all sides hilltop offering different panoramic views. The western part of the hill you will clearly see how beautiful Mount Rinjani clearly visible. The peak of the southern part offer beautiful scenery of rice fields of the Sembalun's farmers that seemed to deliberately arranged but all that was there with naturally. Overall, you will enjoy and breathe the air that normally carried by the wind that accompanied us to be relieving stress or boredom.

14.30 - 16.30: Depart Pergasingan Hill in descent walk for around 2 hours to the parking area where the car is waiting to take you back to your hotel

TWO WATERFALLS, CULTURAL, AND PANORAMA WALK TOUR

HIGHLIGHT: This tour covers two waterfalls in Senaru village which located at the feet of mount Rinjani, Senaru traditional house, Old mosque in Bayan Village, and Panorama Walk. This tour presents you the experiences over the nature, culture and mankind civilization on this region. 

ITINERARY: 

07.00 - 09.00: Our driver pick you up at your hotel, drive you to Senaru village and meet your guide. (Note: this service duration applies if you stay at the hotel far from Senaru)

09.00 - 10.00: Our first journey is visiting Senaru traditional house which located nearby Rinjani National Park gate. you will see the traditional houses of the local indigenous people and learn about the customs of the indigenous people.

10.00 - 12.30: Next we visit the 2 majestic Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep waterfalls near the foot of Mount Rinjani. Start descent walk to Sendang Gile Waterfall by following down the path with around 450 ladders. Stop at the first waterfall, enjoy a break, and take some pictures. You can bath in this waterfall if you want. Next we continue the journey to the second waterfall. We have to walk for around 30 minutes by passing the bridge, crossing the river, and going through the jungle, full of green moss and greenery all around. Then after we get the waterfall, spend your time to enjoy the beautiful of Tiu Kelep and the scenary around it. There is a large pool around the fallen water. The best time to get to the Tiu Kelep waterfall at 12.30 for getting sun shine at the waterfall.

12.30 - 13.30: Lunch at the restaurant in Senaru village.

13.30 - 14.30: Visit the old mosque in Bayan village. It is about 10 km from Senaru. This ancient mosque is a historical relic of Islamic culture in Bayan. Local people use the mosque as a place of worship and major Islamic and traditional events.

14.30 - 16.30: Next we visit the mandala bathing pool. We can swim for a while there to refresh the body. This pool is one of the local community's favorite tourist destinations.

16.30 - 17.30: Our last journey is visiting Bangket Bayan. We will walk in the rice fields to enjoy the natural beauty and rice terraces. Seeing people working in the rice fields with the beautiful background of Mount Rinjani in the afternoon.

17.30 - 19.00: Our driver will transfer you back to your hotel. This is the end of the trip.

JUNGLE TREK: A DAY TREK THROUGH THE RINJANI NATIONAL PARK TO GET THE HIDDEN WATERFALL

HIGHLIGHT: Jungle trek is a kind of one day tours offered by Barbir Lombok Tour. This tour spends a day trek and back through the Mt.Rinjani National Park. The tour covers rain forest, beautiful nature, green valleys and streams along the way, and the hidden waterfall "Penimbungan".

ITENERARY: 

07.30 - 08.00: Start the journey in the morning after breakfast. The route of this trek is from the starting point my village Barung Birak. We ride motorbike from to the gate of Senanga which located in the area of Hindu village. 

08.00 - 10.00: We start walking from the gate of Senanga to the jungle which is part of Rinjani National Park. We will pass through large and shady trees so this path is quite cool. Take pictures and capture the moment around the trees.

10.00 - 12.00: Next we will pass through green hills and valleys. Beautiful scenery spreads out and a bit of fog blankets the route. We will also find river flows with a quite clear and fresh water. Beautiful scenery is presented on this route. You can take pictures and relax for a while.

12.00 - 13.00:  About 1 hour later we will arrive at our last spot the hidden waterfall. The name of this hidden waterfall is Penimbungan. This waterfall can not be visited as the access is hard and dangerous. But it can be seen and watch from the trail or path. You can enjoy the beauty of the waterfall and take pictures of it. We can also experience the beautiful panorama around the waterfall. Even though we couldn't get under the waterfall but all the guests we accompanied were very satisfied with its beauty and the panorama views presented around it. We can relax for while and enjoy the lunch before heading back.

08.00 - 09.30: Our fisrt tour is cashew plantation walk. Sambik Elen is very famous for cashew plantations. There are more than 100 hectares of cashew farm. We walk around in the cashew garden. This program gives you more insight which you never had before in other countries. We can see the farmers harvesting the fruits and nuts of cashew. We also can see the process in cleaving nuts and also how to process the cashew apple to juice.

10.00 - 12.30: Our next journey is to visit Kalianjah waterfall. Kalianjah Waterfall itself comes from two words, namely "Kali" and "Anjah". Kali means river, while anjah means stairs. This waterfall is located in Lenggamsari Hamlet not far from Sambik Elen village. It's about 15 minutes to get there by car or motorcycle from Sambik Elen. You will enjoy the natural beauty around the waterfall. The waterfall is surounded by big and shady trees. Kalianjah waterfall contains sulfur, but don't worry you still can swim or bath safely.

12.30 - 13.00: Lunch at the waterfall. Enjoy your food, snack and soft drinks.

13.30 - 15.00: We continue our trip to visit Barung Birak (a part of Sambik Elen Village). We visit traditional mosque and traditional house of local people there. You can learn about the culture and local living where mountain tribe's life and civilization of past century still exist as a part of the nature.

15.00 - 17.00: Our last journey is Lendang Dangar Area. Lendang Dangar is the name of local small village. Walk around in Lendang Dangar village we can see Lombok natural plantation where you can not find in other country. Lendang Dangar area is good for night camping if you are interested in camping. Quite and nice place for making a bonfire. It is about 1000 meters above the sea level. We also can try Ite Pade swing at the location. Enjoy the beauty of large grassland of this area.

17.00 - 18.00: Our driver drive you back to your hotel.
